Jakarta, Sept. 23 -- The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry is preparing regulations that will govern the use of waste for energy, including pricing for electricity generated from waste-to-energy power plants (PLTSa).

"With this government policy (on waste-to-energy), we are currently updating the regulations," said Deputy Minister of ESDM Yuliot Tanjung at the 2025 Green Energy Summit in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said the ESDM Ministry will regulate three things: pricing for electricity generated from incineration and gasification processes, bioenergy consisting of biomass and biogas, and substitute fuels from pyrolysis.

Tanjung stated that waste volume will be managed based on waste accumulation data in 2024.
