Jakarta, April 21 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Tuesday launched a 1.3-gigawatt (GW) rooftop solar power plant initiative as part of efforts to accelerate the national energy transition.
The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with state-run electricity company PT PLN and the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI).
The ministry's Director of Electricity Program Development, Ahmad Amiruddin, stated in Jakarta that this milestone serves as the foundation for the national vision of developing 100 GW of solar energy, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita missions.
