Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia is heading towards 8 percent economic growth within the next two or three years, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa claimed.

"Some people might say 8 percent growth is too high (expectation), but for me, it is getting there," the minister said at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta on Monday.

He believes the Indonesian economy can grow by 6 percent simply by revitalizing the private and government sectors without major industrial reforms.

According to him, this condition provides the initial capital for the economy to accelerate growth to 8 percent in the near future.
