Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry has extended its condolences to the people and governments of China and Nepal following devastating flash floods in the Gyirong border region.

"Indonesia expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences over the disaster in the Gyirong region, along the China-Nepal border, which has resulted in loss of life, injuries, and damage to public infrastructure," the ministry's spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said in Jakarta on Thursday.

He affirmed Indonesia's full support for the ongoing search, rescue, and relief operations conducted by Chinese and Nepalese authorities.
