Jakarta, Aug. 6 -- The Industry Ministry has confirmed that forthcoming government incentives for electric vehicles (EVs) will strictly target high-value-added products that support the national electric car and motorcycle development programs.

Speaking to reporters in Jakarta on Thursday, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that the government seeks to ensure the incentive policy builds a robust domestic industrial ecosystem.

"The focus of EV incentive recipients, whether four-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles, will certainly be on products that create high added value in Indonesia," Agus said.

"This means strong structural development, but equally important is the national car or electric motorcycle program," he added....
