Bantul, Yogyakarta, Oct. 4 -- The Indonesian government reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding and empowering former transmigrants relocated to Karangtengah, Bantul, Yogyakarta, following past social conflicts in Aceh, Central Kalimantan, and Papua.

Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi, who visited the site on Saturday, said the resettlement program had successfully provided security and stability for affected families.

"The empowerment process has been carried out, and we are glad to see that they are now living safely, comfortably, and happily," Yoga said.
