Jakarta, April 16 -- Indonesia is encouraging the US and Iran to continue dialogue towards peace agreement and end hostilities.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang said the first US-Iran negotiation, held in Islamabad last weekend, were a good start and should be continued - despite their failure to reach any agreement yet.
"Indonesia regrets the failure to reach an agreement during the talks between the US and Iran, despite Pakistan's hard work in facilitating dialogue between the two parties," Yvonne stated here on Thursday.
"However, Indonesia views this negotiation as an appropriate and very important initial step, and therefore must be continued," she added.
