Jakarta, April 14 -- Indonesia's Defense Ministry confirmed that a proposed Letter of Intent (LOI) on US overflight clearance is not part of the Indonesia-US Major Defense Cooperation Partnership (MDCP).
"That (the agreement on overflight clearance for US aircraft) is not included in the MDCP," Defense Ministry spokesperson Rico Ricardo Sirait said on Tuesday.
The MDCP is a defense cooperation framework signed by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in Washington on Monday.
Sirait said the Indonesian government is still considering proposals related to overflight permissions for US aircraft in Indonesian airspace.
