Jakarta, Oct. 31 -- Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti on Friday announced that the incentive for contract teachers will be increased to Rp400 thousand (US$24.03) per month starting in 2026.

Mu'ti delivered the statement after launching the National Teachers' Month, which carries the theme "Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia." The program aims to strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration in improving teachers' competence and welfare.

The bonus increase is part of the government's gift to commemorate this year's National Teachers' Day.
