Sidoarjo, East Java, Oct. 7 -- The number of victims in the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building collapse in Sidoarjo, East Java, has been confirmed at 171, according to the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

Basarnas Head Mohammad Syafii reported on Tuesday that 104 people survived, while 67 others lost their lives.

"Eight victims were discovered in incomplete pieces," he added.

Syafii said the government decided to conclude the search and rescue operation, which began immediately after the four-story building collapsed on September 29. All victims have been evacuated from the rubble.
