Indonesia condemns escalating violence in West Bank
Jakarta, July 31 -- Indonesia has condemned escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, calling for an immediate end to hostilities and urging all parties to comply with international law, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang said Thursday.
"Our position is consistent; we continue to condemn the violence occurring in the West Bank," Yvonne said in Jakarta, adding that Indonesia was closely monitoring developments.
Indonesia urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint, respect existing ceasefire agreements and prioritize diplomacy to prevent further regional destabilization, she said.
The call came amid growing international concern over worsening conditions in the West Bank and wider region.
