Indonesia charts 5.61 pct growth in Q1 2026, highest since Q3 2022
Yogyakarta, May 23 -- Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 reached 5.61 percent year-on-year, the highest growth rate since the third quarter of 2022.
Speaking in Yogyakarta on Friday, he explained that this growth was driven by robust household consumption, strong investment, and increasingly efficient and productive government spending.
"This is also a result of our ability to manage the budget more efficiently while ensuring the private sector remains vibrant," he said during the opening of the 2026 Jogja Financial Festival at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC).
