Jakarta, March 26 -- Indonesia's Housing and Settlement (PKP) Ministry has allocated funds worth Rp22.6 billion (over US$1.3 million) from its 2026 spending budget to improve the quality of residences and settlement planning in Samosir District, North Sumatra.
"This financial support is expected to help accelerate efforts aimed at enhancing the living environment while boosting public welfare," PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait noted in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
He added that the ministry also envisions the initiative encouraging residents in Samosir to proactively maintain cleanliness and strengthen their spirit of cooperation for a better quality of life.
