Jakarta, April 16 -- Indonesia is carrying out energy cooperation with a number of countries, including Russia and the US, based on national interests.
The statement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela regarding Indonesia's move to purchase oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Russia while continuing to maintain its existing energy cooperation with the US.
"We must understand the context of this cooperation is the diversification of sources to ensure energy security. Therefore, our national interests are a priority," Nabyl told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday.
