West Java, July 29 -- Indonesia's Legok Nangka waste-to-energy plant in West Java Province is expected to create around 1,500 jobs during its construction phase while generating 40 megawatts (MW) of electricity upon completion.

The Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung, speaking after the groundbreaking ceremony in Bandung District on Wednesday, said the project would strengthen West Java's energy supply while providing a long-term solution to the province's growing waste management challenges.
