Tangerang, Banten, Aug. 1 -- Customs authorities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport have stepped up baggage inspections and monitoring for all flight crews following the arrest of a Malaysian pilot caught smuggling tens of thousands of ecstasy pills into the country.

Hengky Tomuan Parlindungan Aritonang, head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise Office, announced Saturday that random baggage checks will now be enforced on all flight crews utilizing special crew lanes at the major aviation hub near Jakarta.
