Jakarta, Feb. 8 -- The Agriculture Ministry is stepping up efforts to control livestock diseases ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr by strengthening preparedness, cross-regional coordination, and early detection to prevent the spread of infections.

The ministry's Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, Agung Suganda, said in a statement on Sunday that strengthening national readiness is key to preventing economic losses and ensuring that the food supply remains safe and stable for the public.

Reflecting on past outbreaks, he stressed that disease control must be well-planned, integrated, and proactive, highlighting the need for implementing rapid case detection and control measures to prevent diseases from spreading.
