Jakarta, July 11 -- Indonesia's Culture Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country's film industry through closer cooperation with France, focusing on talent development, co-productions, film preservation and sustainable financing, officials said on Friday.

Culture Minister Fadli Zon discussed the initiative during a meeting in Jakarta with French Ambassador Fabien Penone and representatives of France's Centre national du cinema et de l'image animee (CNC).

Fadli said Indonesia views the film and audiovisual sector as a key area for translating its cultural partnership with France into tangible outcomes.
