Jakarta, July 11 -- Indonesia's Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti has urged regional education offices to strictly supervise school orientation activities at the start of the 2025-2026 academic year to prevent hazing.

Speaking at the launch of the Friendly School Orientation program in Jakarta on Friday, he said that school principals are fully responsible for the orientation process, which will be directly overseen by local education offices.

He emphasized that his ministry requires all orientation activities to be supervised by teachers or school staff, not by student organizations.
