Jakarta, Oct. 10 -- Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni outlined key strategies Indonesia must undertake to establish a robust, inclusive carbon market ecosystem, including efforts to reforest 10 million hectares of degraded and critical land.
"To establish a robust, inclusive, and globally interconnected carbon market ecosystem, first of all, Indonesia needs to ensure a clear policy," the minister said at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum in Jakarta on Friday.
Antoni emphasized that another vital strategy is synchronizing measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) processes with global standards. Indonesia must also adapt to rapid technological advancements to attract major investors in green projects.
