Indonesia achieves self-sufficiency in eight food commodities: Prabowo
Jakarta, Aug. 14 -- President Prabowo Subianto said on Friday that Indonesia had achieved self-sufficiency in eight food commodities over the past year as part of efforts to strengthen national food security.
The eight commodities are rice, corn, table sugar, industrial sugar, garlic, beef, buffalo meat, and soybeans, he said.
Prabowo made the statement during the State of the Nation Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in Jakarta.
