Jakarta, April 10 -- Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said that rising energy consumption, particularly of fossil fuels, has prompted the Indonesian government to accelerate the development of the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem as part of its clean energy transition.
He noted that the measures include strengthening the industry, expanding supporting infrastructure, and providing incentives to boost EV adoption in an integrated manner while enhancing national energy self-sufficiency.
According to an official press release on Friday, the government is focusing on building an integrated EV ecosystem to ensure broader and more effective implementation.
