Jakarta, April 24 -- Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) is boosting the uptake of domestically produced solar panels to meet domestic demand, by accelerating the development of 100 GW of solar power plants (PLTS).
Deputy Minister Yuliot made the statement in response to concerns over the impact of US-imposed import tariffs on Indonesian solar panel products, which could affect the domestic solar panel industry.
"The President's (Prabowo Subianto) directive is to accelerate the development of 100 GW of PLTS for domestic needs. So, this will be balanced," Yuliot said in Jakarta on Friday.
