Indonesia, Singapore reaffirm freedom of navigation in Malacca Strait
Jakarta, July 6 -- Indonesia and Singapore reiterated their commitment to uphold freedom of navigation in the Strait of Malacca and to strengthen maritime security, including search and rescue cooperation and anti-piracy efforts in the strategic waterway.
"Indonesia and Singapore are neighboring countries bordering the Strait of Malacca, and it is imperative for us to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Malacca for all parties," Prabowo said during the joint press statement with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Merdeka Palace on Monday.
