Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- Indonesia and the Netherlands will co-host the 2027 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial (UNPM) in Jakarta in the fourth quarter of 2027, Indonesia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued here Saturday.

"Through this joint leadership, Indonesia seeks to garner political support, foster inclusive international cooperation and ensure UN peacekeeping operations remain effective, responsive and adequately resourced," Indonesia's UN envoy Umar Hadi said.

It will be the first time Indonesia hosts the forum. Germany handed over the hosting role during a meeting of the UN Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations in New York on Thursday.
