Indonesia, India seek stronger parliamentary cooperation
Jakarta, July 7 -- House Speaker Puan Maharani on Tuesday called for closer parliamentary cooperation with India to strengthen bilateral ties and advance shared interests in regional and multilateral forums.
Speaking before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the House of Representatives, Puan said both parliaments should deliver concrete benefits for the people of Indonesia and India.
She said the two countries should deepen development cooperation and work together to safeguard regional stability amid intensifying geopolitical rivalry and global challenges.
Puan called for stronger cooperation not only between the two governments but also between their legislatures.
