Jakarta, Feb. 25 -- Indonesian Culture Minister Fadli Zon met with German Ambassador to Indonesia Ralf Beste in Jakarta to discuss ways to deepen cultural cooperation, including renewing a bilateral agreement and repatriating Indonesian historical artifacts.
"We aim to strengthen cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany. Indonesia and Germany have collaborated culturally since 1988, and I believe it is time for both nations to update this partnership," Zon said.
According to a press release issued Wednesday, Zon referred to the 1988 Agreement on Cultural Cooperation, which he said requires adjustments to reflect global dynamics and shifting priorities for both countries.
