Indonesia, Germany reaffirm support for UN Charter
Jakarta, June 15 -- German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier reaffirmed Germany's commitment to working with Indonesia to uphold the principles of the United Nations Charter amid rising violence and conflicts in various parts of the world.
During his state visit to Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Steinmeier said Germany and Indonesia share a commitment to supporting a rules-based international order and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
Steinmeier made the remarks against the backdrop of multiple global crises driven by ongoing armed conflicts. He cited wars and conflicts in Europe, Central Asia, and Sudan as examples of challenges facing the international community.
