Bandung, West Java, Jan. 9 -- Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung has treated 10 patients with symptoms of influenza A (H3N2) subclade K, also known as super flu, in early January 2026.
The hospital's Head of the Emerging and Re-emerging Infection Diseases Team, Yovita Hartantri, said the number of cases was only identified at the beginning of this year, with varying ages and severity.
"We treated around 10 cases in early January," she confirmed on Friday.
Of the 10 patients, two were infants, aged nine months and one year; one was 11 years old; five were between the ages of 20 and 60; and two were over 60.
