Govt to refocus free meal program on needy beneficiaries in a month
Jakarta, June 11 -- Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan has set a one-month target to complete the reprioritization of beneficiaries under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, including identifying and removing schools that are considered capable of meeting students' nutritional needs without government assistance.
Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, Hasan said many schools that urgently need nutritional intervention have yet to be included in the program.
He noted that the government will conduct a comprehensive mapping of beneficiaries over the next month to ensure the program reaches those who need it most.
