Govt to issue presidential rule on "ojol" before August 17
Jakarta, Aug. 10 -- The Indonesian government is finalizing a presidential regulation establishing a legal framework and economic protections for online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers prior to Independence Day on August 17.
Speaking at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the upcoming regulation specifically targets two-wheeled transport services, encompassing both passenger transport and logistics delivery.
"The focus of the regulation is on the delivery of people and goods, specifically for two-wheeled vehicles," Dudy said, noting that four-wheeled ride-hailing services are not covered under this specific presidential decree.
