Jakarta, April 6 -- The government conveyed plans to improve the public housing renovation program in 2026, targeting the renovation of 400,000 housing units across Indonesia.
Minister of Housing and Settlements, Maruarar Sirait, said the program expansion was a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to accelerate the provision of decent housing for the public.
"There are strategic steps to increase public housing renovation. We are preparing this together with the Minister of Finance, the Minister of State Secretary, and the Cabinet Secretary to renovate public housing throughout Indonesia. Last year, the target was 45,000 houses; this year, it will be 400,000," he announced at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
