Jakarta, Aug. 18 -- The Indonesian government has sent aid to communities affected by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Poso, Central Sulawesi, Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf said on Monday.

He stated that assistance worth more than Rp200 million (around US$12,500) was distributed in the form of mattresses, blankets, tents, ready-to-eat meals, and children's necessities.

The 6.0-magnitude quake struck Poso on Sunday, August 17, at 05:38 a.m. local time, with its epicenter about 18 kilometers northwest of Poso at a depth of 10 kilometers. No tsunami warning was issued.
