Jakarta, Sept. 14 -- The Indonesian government is accelerating the refinement of the master plan for the ambitious 575-kilometer Giant Sea Wall (GSW) project, prioritizing high-risk zones along Java's northern coast to combat severe land subsidence and rising sea levels.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) that his ministry is working closely with regional leaders to translate macro-level strategies into immediate, actionable engineering plans.

"We are currently refining the master plan. This 575-kilometer-long Giant Sea Wall is an extraordinarily large project," AHY said during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
