Jakarta, Dec. 8 -- The Indonesian Government has allocated a budget of $4.4 million (Rp75.9 billion) to cover the living expenses of students and lecturers affected by the severe floods and landslides across Sumatra.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Fauzan, announced the funding during a working meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Monday.
The provision of living expenses is part of a broader program aimed at mitigating the disaster's impact on higher education in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh.
