Jakarta, Sept. 26 -- Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has postponed the implementation of e-commerce companies, marketplaces, to collect Income Tax (PPh) 22 from merchants to maintain public purchasing power.

"We'll wait, at least until the Rp200 trillion policy, a policy to stimulate the economy, begins to show. Then we'll think about it," Sadewa said at a media briefing at the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Friday.

Currently, the Finance Ministry is testing the system that will be used to implement the policy.

Once the system is ready and the policy is implemented, all marketplace companies will collect PPh 22 from merchants.

This is to ensure the policy is implemented fairly and does not provide loopholes for industry players ...
