S Tangerang, Banten, Aug. 26 -- Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid emphasized that the Indonesian government is committed to creating a regulation to protect the younger generation from the negative impacts of digitalization, including artificial intelligence (AI).
"As regulators, we should think about creating regulations that can protect our youngsters amid digitalization," she said at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University in South Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday.
Hafid noted that undeniably, the rapid digitalization and AI development pose threats to several conventional jobs, even causing layoffs in a number of sectors.
