Jakarta, Aug. 26 -- The Ministry of Agriculture is continuing to intensify the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccination in a bid to prevent a surge in FMD cases in livestock.

Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the ministry, Agung Suganda, here on Tuesday, noted that the vaccination program is carried out in two periods in a year.

The vaccination in the first period, which ran from January to March 2025, was carried out with 2.1 million vaccine doses allocated. It was able to keep FMD cases under control, especially during the high traffic of livestock ahead of Eid al-Adha.
