Jayapura, June 22 -- The government has allocated around Rp8 trillion (nearly US$450 million) to support the renovation of 400,000 uninhabitable homes across Indonesia, Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian said.

"The number of homes to be renovated in various regions across Indonesia has increased significantly, from around 45,000 in 2025 to approximately 400,000 in 2026," he remarked during a visit to Jayapura City, Papua Province, cited on Monday.

Tito explained that President Prabowo Subianto had tasked the Ministry of Housing and Settlements Areas with implementing the program nationwide, with support from the State Budget and other funding sources.
