Jakarta, March 2 -- The government has projected that 143.9 million people will travel during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period, prompting the need for mobility management to avoid crowding at specific times.
"We are trying to reduce pressure by extending the holiday period, adjusting school vacations, and implementing flexible working arrangements for civil servants, which are expected to ease travel demand," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno said here on Monday.
In addition to mobility management, Pratikno stressed vigilance against hydrometeorological disasters. Conditions in Sumatra have not fully recovered, with recurring rain and floods affecting previously impacted areas.
