Jakarta, Sept. 8 -- The government is open to the House of Representatives (DPR) revising and taking over the draft Asset Confiscation Bill that the government has already completed.

This follows the DPR's plan to take initiative on the bill, which would transfer the process from the government to the legislative branch, said Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

"From the government's side, we are ready to discuss the bill whenever the DPR submits it to President Prabowo," Mahendra said here on Monday.

He urged all parties not to doubt the government's commitment. Once the DPR is ready, the President will appoint ministers to represent the government in the bill discussions.
