Bengkulu, Sept. 10 -- The Ministry of Transmigration has allocated Rp5.5 billion to support the development of two transmigration areas in North Bengkulu District, Bengkulu Province.

"To strengthen infrastructure, the Ministry of Transmigration has disbursed Rp5.5 billion to these two locations," Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mulyadi remarked here on Wednesday.

Mulyadi explained that the transmigration program is not merely about relocating people from densely populated areas to new regions, but also serves as a catalyst for economic growth.

"Many transmigration areas have now become food production centers, including North Bengkulu, which is recognized as one of the province's rice barns," he said.
