Jakarta, Sept. 29 -- The Health Ministry identified as many as 600,698 TB cases by 27 September 2025, which is 55 percent of the target set at 1,090,000 cases.

The ministry's acting director general for disease treatment, Murti Utami, said here on Monday that supposedly, by September, 70 percent of the cases should have been identified. Of the 600 thousand cases, 14 percent were found in children, whereas 86 percent were found among adults.

Utami confirmed that treatment coverage is capped at 90 percent; however, they lost contact with 10 percent of the patients.

As for treatment for drug-resistant TB, the target is set at 95 percent, but the coverage is only around 75 percent, she added.
