Gov't ensures 100% refunds for flights cancelled due to Krakatau ash
Jakarta, Sept. 6 -- Indonesia's Transportation Ministry has guaranteed full refunds for passengers whose flights were canceled because airport closures were triggered by volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.
Director General of Air Transportation Lukman F. Laisa told ANTARA here Sunday that the policy applies to passengers whose flights were canceled because volcanic ash affected airport operations.
Laisa said the ministry considers the full refund a public service measure to ensure passengers do not suffer financial losses from safety-related cancellations.
