Timika, C Papua, March 12 -- The coffin of Simson Mulia, an employee of contractor CV Mpeigelah who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near the former Grasberg open-pit mine in Indonesia's Central Papua, has been flown to Jakarta for burial.

Tembagapura Police Chief Firman said the body was transported from Timika to Jakarta on an Airfast aircraft on Thursday, escorted by criminal investigation officers from Tembagapura police and investigators from PT Freeport Indonesia.

"The victim will be buried in his hometown of Bandung, West Java," Firman said when contacted from Timika on Thursday.
