Jakarta, Aug. 31 -- President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that the government respects the people's freedom of expression as guaranteed by law and international standards, while firmly rejecting all forms of anarchic actions that harm the public.

He made the statement during a joint press conference with parliamentary and political leaders at Merdeka Palace here on Sunday.

The gathering included leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR), the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and several political party heads.
