Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) stated that recent floods and strong winds in the provinces of Bengkulu, South Sumatra, and Central Java-occurring during the peak of the dry season-are signs of weather anomalies.

"Wet hydrometeorological disasters are occurring amid the dry season. We urge all regional governments and communities to stay vigilant and enhance preparedness," Head of BNPB's Data, Information, and Communication Center Abdul Muhari remarked here on Friday.

He explained that these unusual weather events have led to inundated settlements, damaged infrastructure, and dozens of affected homes across the three provinces.
