Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- Indonesia has calculated additional transfers for regional governments facing budget shortfalls and is awaiting President Prabowo Subianto's approval before announcing the allocation, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said on Friday.

The Finance Ministry has estimated the amount of supplementary regional transfer funds, known as TKD, needed to support local governments, Sadewa told reporters at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

"We have calculated roughly how much is needed. Now we are awaiting the President's direction," Sadewa said.

He declined to disclose the proposed allocation, saying he would first present the plan to Prabowo before any official announcement.
