Jakarta, Oct. 1 -- Indonesia has a clear direction toward clean energy as the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka nears its two-year mark, researcher Yayan Satyakti said.

"The report card is quite good, showing a clear path toward clean energy," he told ANTARA when contacted on Thursday.

Yayan, a lecturer at Padjadjaran University's Faculty of Economics and Business, noted that Indonesia's move toward clean energy is evident from the government's target to build 100 gigawatt-peak (GWp) of solar power capacity.

In addition, he noted plans for a gradual phase-out of fossil fuels.

"This target places Indonesia among the world's largest solar power programs," he said.
