East Java ammunition depot blast kills one soldier, injures six
Jakarta, July 16 -- An explosion at a central ammunition depot in Madiun Regency, East Java, on Thursday morning killed an Indonesian Army soldier and injured six others, the military confirmed.
"One service member was confirmed dead, while four others suffered serious injuries and two sustained minor injuries," Army Information Office Chief Brigadier General Donny Pramono stated during a press conference at the army headquarters here.
Pramono noted that the explosion occurred while personnel were conducting routine maintenance and inspection of ammunition stocks inside a storage facility.
